Elections team departs to atolls

Election Commissioner’s Office has revealed that a team has departed to the atolls to study and determine where to position the ballot boxes in the forthcoming presidential election scheduled later in the year.
According to the Commissioner’s Office the tour of the atolls is part of the ongoing efforts carried out by the commissioner’s office to ensure the forthcoming elections are carried out in an open fair and free manner. Commissioner’s Office also says that the teams will collect information on suitable places where the boxes can be positioned on the Election Day. Elections Office says consideration will be given to places where it can be easily accessed by the people and where the counting can be carried to announce the interim results.
Commissioner’s Office also say the team will visit those islands where more than one ballot box are planned to be kept. Teams will first operate in Addu Atoll and from there will move on to Fuvahmuah on the 8 of this month say the Commissioner’s Office.
