MDP Presidential Primary News Coverage

Male' - 20:23 - Voting is still going strong in Kalaafaanu School in Male'. Turn out seems quite high. Most people seemed to have turned up to vote towards late afternoon. Old, and young, men and women, they came to exercise their democratic right in the first and free Presidential Primary ever to be held in the Maldives by any political party.
Some complaints were received about missing names from the electoral list but on the whole most people seem quite satisfied with the way things are going. People waited patiently in long queues inside the hall and outside.
Currently the crowd is thinning out as the voting is scheduled to close at 9 pm.

Male' - 15:15 - Voting is going well and with enthusiasm, according to reports. A political analyst stated "patient and orderly the people are waiting in queues in Kalafanu School. The hall itself was packed. This is the epitome of democracy in the Maldives. Irrespective of who they voted, they all had one thing in common- they all want to get rid of the dictator (Golhaabo)."
Hinnavaru - 15:00 - Voting began at 14:00 as planned and going smoothly.
Male' - 15:00 - Candidates Reeko Moosa and Anni has voted in Male'.
Male' - 14:15 - Lhaviyani and Fuahmulah stations now opened. Anni waiting in the Galolhu station to vote.
Male' - 14:00 - Polling begins to elect MDP's presidential candidate. All Male' boxes opened in addition to some island boxes stationed in Male' at Kalaafaanu School. No one at the Lhaviyani desk and some members are complaining.
Male' - 13:50 - If you have a proxy you can only vote at the proxy table. Do not go to any other table then you cannot vote for your proxy.
Male' - 13:45 - Anni's camp is in Dharubaaruge and have assigned a desk for each Atoll and will conduct entry polls.
