After nearly 91 of the ballot boxes counted, Anni has reportedly secured more than 65%, whilst the runner up Dr. Munavvar managed to secure 26% and Moosa secured 9%. These results are the initial count. The official count announced at around 2:00am are as follows: Anni 3275 (69%), Munavvar 718 (21%) and Moosa 528 (10%). The trend is set to continue and as per the official preliminary results, Anni performed extremely well in almost all areas, including Addu Atoll. Official preliminary results are expected within the next few hours according to election officials.
